As many as 5,659 tribal voters belonging to 12 villages under Mohana Assembly constituency in Gajapati district boycotted the April 10 polls alleging that the Government has always turned deaf ears to their basic demands.
It was revealed from the District Election Office that the voters of Jhulla, Ranailai, lankadagudha, Tikalima, Munusing, KM Bhaliasahi, R Bhaliasahi, Marlaba, lailai, Belapadar, Gangabada and Khambagaon refrained from voting.
While Chief Minister Naveen Patanik is talking big of his Government performances, the poll boycott by over 5,000 tribal voters has exposed his failures, said some locals of the constituency.
