Shiva Mali (55) from Gadpadar village sustained serious injuries after he was attacked by two adult bears.
His neck, stomach, intestine and face were affected as the bears pounce upon him. His left eye is completely damaged and right ear partly hurt. Mali was first admitted to the Jeypore Sub Divisional Hospital and later, in the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Koraput.
As per the sources, Mali had gone to the garden to pour water in the evening when suddenly the bears came and attacked him. His brother Banamali and sister –in- law lalita rescued him and rushed him to hospital.
A fear has descended on the entire village of Godapadar after the incident. People after 7 pm in evening are keeping indoors.
