Out of the total 6,719 sanctioned allopathic doctor posts in various hospitals the State, 510 posts are now lying vacant, informed Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das in the State Assembly on Monday.
In response to a question of BJD MLA Angad Kanhar, the Minister also informed that 250 out of total 690 Ayurvedic doctor posts and 173 out of total 595 Homeopathic doctor posts are lying vacant.
Out of allopathic doctor posts, 5,451 are in regular position, 119 on ad-hoc, 585 on contractual base 12 on corpus fund and 43 on DMF.
A total of 1,083 ayurvedic doctors and 1,377 homeopathic doctors have registered their names with the Government during the last 10 years. A total of 987 allopathic doctors are awaiting recruitment in the State as per the State Public Service Commission.
