The police and Civil Supplies department personnel seized 500 bags of wheat from the godown of a rice mill on Sunday.
The wheat had come from Delang in Puri district to the RK Flour Mills here, but it was practically unloaded in the godown of the rice mill. Hence, smelling a rat the police seized the wheat and detained the drivers of the wheat-carrying trucks. The matter was being investigated, said Jharsuguda SP DK Deo.
It needs mention that lion’s shares of the wheat, sugar and kerosene meant for the public distribution system (PDS) all over western Odisha go to the black market at the knowledge of the concerned departments and the targeted people do not get the benefit of it.
