In last 72 hours, more than 50 persons, between the age group of 16 to 50 years of Bandhasahi, Beherasahi and Marshaghai villages, reported as suffering from diarrhoea. They were rushed to the Marshaghai CHC for treatment.
According to Medical Officer of Marshaghai CHC Dr Akhaya Das, the outbreak of diarrhoea has been controlled as most of the affected persons, who were admitted at the CHC, were discharged from the hospital. No fresh case has been reported from the three affected villages, he said.
According to Das, diarrhoea spread in the locality as the affected persons were detected with symptoms of food poisoning. As per the preliminary inquiry, it was found that the diarrhoea affected persons on last Friday had taken Prasad in the locality on the occasion of Ram Navami. They might have consumed contaminated water or unhygienic food, leading to food
poisoning.
