Five more servitors of the Jagannath Temple of Puri, who returned from the Kumbh Mela, have tested positive for Covid-19.
“So far, 127 people have returned to Puri district after attending the Kumbh Mela at Haridwar in Uttarakhand. Out of them, 36 are sevayats of the Shreemandir,” informed a district official.
It is to be noted that a total of 47 servitors and 34 staffs of the Shreemandir administration have contracted the virus till date. Earlier on April 24, keeping in view the upsurge in Covid-19 cases, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) suspended general darshan at the temple till May 15.
