Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Sunday asserted that his Government has created five lakh employment opportunities, including 50,000 in Government sectors, during the last three years and has set a target to provide 30 lakh more jobs by 2025.

He was addressing the executive meeting of the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) here.

Patnaik said his Government has adopted a Youth Policy to empower employable boys and girls and is creating jobs by adopting Industrial, MSME and Startup Policies. He said the State’s IT exports have witnessed a remarkable growth during the last two years with items worth Rs40,000 crore exported in 2016-16 against Rs20,000 crore in previous year.

Terming each BYJD activist as a success pillar of the party, Patanik urged them to be “tech-savvy’” and use social media to connect with people.

“Odisha is a model State in the social welfare sector. You all have to work  hard at the grassroots level to see that no deserving beneficiary is deprived in the welfare schemes,” Patnaik advised the BJD youth force.

Stating that some people and some parties are now engaged in providing misleading information, Patnaik asked the party youths to oppose them at every level and tell the truth to the people. He too called upon them to be always involved in the BJD’s Jeeban Bindu (blood donation) programme and to provide all cooperation for success of the proposed Aama Gaon O Aama Bikash programme to begin from July.

He said BYJD’s district committees would be formed in coming 15 days, constituency and block committees in 30 days and panchayat-level committees in 45 days, and the whole process would be over in July. He said he would attend six zonal meetings to be held at different places in the State in June and July.
