As was anticipated, the looters, who had escaped looting more than Rs five lakh from a private company’s marketing executive near Trishulia near Barang last Wednesday, turned out to be the colleagues of the victim.
This was ascertained here on Tuesday, when the city police arrested five persons in this connection and recovered from them parts of the looted cash. Police are also looking out for three more accused persons involved in it and are hopeful of recovering a substantial amount of the looted cash.
Police said the marketing executive is working for a Balasore-based Company and was entrusted to collect cash from the retailers of Jagatsinghpur and Raghunathpur areas. last Tuesday evening, a group of masked men attacked him near a filling station at Trishulia and decamped after snatching the cash bag from him, police said.
