The Jakhapura police have arrested five inter-State dacoits for allegedly looting steel plates worth Rs 56 lakh of a steel company in the district.
Sources said as many as 13 bundles of steel plates were being transported by the Jindal Stainless Limited to Vishakhapatnam in a trailer few days ago, when the accused intercepted the vehicle and looted the steel plates.
Later, they disposed off the plates to a company in Mumbai.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the company, police after investigations, apprehended the five miscreants from Mumbai.
Cops have seized eight bundles of steel plates, a car and a trailer from the possession of the accused.
