Police have arrested five persons, including the one who allegedly sold land of his father on fake documents like Aadhaar and voter identity card, in lakhanpur of Jharsuguda district.
The arrested were Pramod Pradhan, mastermind of the deal Bhojraj Pradhan and Raj Kumar Meher of lakhanpur, Jitendra Pradhan of Beheraguda Chowk and land mafia Pradeep Mishra of Dharmasala. Some fake registration deed papers, fake Aaadhaar card, a colour printer and a CPU were also seized from JK computer shop at Beheraguda Chowk.
Sources said land agent Pradeep Mishra had requested Bhojraj Pradhan to arrange a piece of plot for him at lakhanpur. Besides, he also persuaded Pramod Pradhan to sell a plot of his father Sukadeb Pradhan. later, Pramod managed to sell 30 decimals of land of his father affixing his own photo in lieu of his father’s on the Aadhaar card.
The execution of the card was so accurate that nobody could suspect its genuineness. But noticing Pramod’s photo instead of his father’s on the Aadhaar card, a tehasil clerk informed the matter to registrant Bhimsen Munda. He also took Pramod to lakhanpur Tehsildar on a plea of his left-out signature.
later, Tehsildar Hemsagar Bhoi informed the matter in writing to the lakhanpur police. The police reached the spot and arrested all five accused, including Pramod, and forwarded them to court on Sunday.
