A five-day-long workshop on the Right to Information (RTI) Act would be held in the first week of August this year at Rourkela, said Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhiyan Chief Pradip Pradhan after the conclusion of its Rourkela chapter meeting.
Pradhan said corruption has now become an incurable disease. It can be curbed only by proper use of RTI. Unfortunately, after nine years of the implementation of the Act, it is yet to be reached to the common people. On many occasions, the corrupt Government officials are working against the sanctity of the Act and taking advantage of the unawareness of the people.
So, the intention of the workshop is to educate people about the details of the RTI Act, added Pradhan. Rourkela MlA Dilip Ray being present at the meeting expressed his support for success of the workshop.
