As many as 480 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area on Saturday, taking the city’s total tally to 15,845. Of the new cases, 182 were from quarantine and all linked with earlier positive cases. Besides, 298 were local contacts.
However, 642 persons recovered from the disease on the day, taking the city’s total recoveries to 10,826.
“Further contact tracing is still continuing. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and will be under active surveillance,” the BMC said.
So far, out of the total 15,845 positive cases detected in the city, 4,946 are active ones. As many as 60 persons have succumbed to the disease in the city.
