Supporting the bandh call of the Central Employees’ Confederation on its 21-point chatter of demands, 55 Main and Sub-Post Offices and 412 Branch Post Offices in undivided Dhenkanal district remained closed on Thursday.
Apart from around 1,000 postal employees of Angul and Dhenkanal districts, thousands of Central Government employees working in 105 institutions in India took part in the stir in response to the call given by the Akhil Bharat Daka Karmachari Sangha and the National Daka Karmachari Sangha.
leaders of both unions Prafulla Kumar Sahu and Ashok Kumar Nanda said here that their protest would continue until the Government reconsiders the anti-employees proposal of the 7th Pay Commission and fulfils the 20 other demands.
