A total of 427 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area on Wednesday, taking city’s total tally to 14,492.
Of fresh cases, 191were from quarantine linked with earlier positive cases and 236 were local contacts.
However, 401 persons recovered from the infection on the day, taking the total recoveries to 9, 035.
“Further contact tracing are still continuing. Primary contacts and nearby houses are being quarantined, sanitised and would be under active surveillance.
All new positive cases have been shifted to Covid Hospitals,” Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.So far, out of the total of 14,492 positive cases detected in the city, 5,077 are active ones.
