42 degrees temp: B'pada's normal life hit

Published on:

The district headquarters town of Mayurbhanj has been in the grip of severe heat wave conditions for the last four days.

While the maximum temperature in the day here was 40.6 degree celsius on Friday, it rose to 41.4 degrees on Saturday, and on Sunday, it touched 42 degree Celsius.

This has resulted in very thin vehicular movement in the town, particularly during the working hours of the day. Even bats and some birds were noticed gasping for life and falling dead from the branches of the trees on Saturday and Sunday.
