The district Collector of Nayagarh approved 41villages under eight blocks of the district as child marriage-free.
No child marriage was solemnised from January 2019 to November 2020 in these villages. A child marriage prohibition committee was formed to ensure no child marriage took place.
Notably, the Action Aid and the Unicef took several initiatives to stop child marriage in these villages.
