Breaches in the embankment of Malaguni river near Ratanpur village under the Kanas block on Tuesday night flooded more villages and paddy land. The Tuesday night flood snapped all road links to the area.
It was almost difficult to provide relief under adverse weather as it had been raining heavily since 24 hours. The fresh bout of flood added new areas to the list of nine affected gram panchayats, who were already reeling under the floods.Over 40,000 people were suffering because of inadequate supply of polythene sheets. Pet animals too were left in the lurch. Rescue and relief teams were yet to reach the area.
