For killing a four-year-old child mercilessly, one Sunadhar Jani of Pathanguda village under the Kotpad police limits of Koraput district was convicted for life imprisonment by the Additional District Judge, Jeypore, on Wednesday.
It had been alleged that Sunadhar Jani had differences with the family of one Mina Jani of the same village. On June 16, 2013, Sunadhar went to the house of Mino with an axe and killed Mino’s son laxman. Sunadhar struck thrice on the head of the kid, who died on spot. He also attacked the child’s grandfather lucky Jani when he resisted his attack.
Additional District Judge Subrat Mohanty found and declared Sunadhar guilty after listening to the witnesses and verifying the evidences of the case. Sunadhar was convicted for life imprisonment for killing of the kid and three years of imprisonment for attacking lucky. A fine of `10,000 was also imposed on him. Additional Public Prosecutor Prabhakar Pattanaik was pleading the case on behalf of Government.
