In a tragic electric mishap at Eswarpur in the Balikuda area, four youths were seriously injured after they came in contact with a live 11-KV electric line on Saturday.
They were Umesh Kandi, Krushna Patra, Nirmal Mandal and Manas Kandi, all of Gadaharishpur village under Eurasia block.
They were labourer of a tent house owner who had undertaken decoration work of the Durga Puja pandal of the Eswarpur Bazar Committee since two days ago.
On Saturday morning, the victim youths were engage in the work ridding bamboo poles, but suddenly a bamboo pole touched the live electric wire mounted on the makeshift pandal.
Umesh Kandi got serious burn injuries and was shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack while the three others were admitted in the District Headquarters Hospital here.
