A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 10-year-old boy under the Balliguda police station area in Kandhamal district on Thursday.
Sources said that when the minor girl was playing outside her house, the boy of a neighbouring house lured her and managed to take her to an isolated place. Then he raped her there.
Later, the girl informed about this to her family members, who lodged a complaint at the local police station at night. But the accused boy absconded after the incident.
Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
Besides, the girl was sent to a local hospital for medical examination.
