Four Maoist cadres, Johan Munda (25), Joseph Tarkote (30), Johan Purty (45) and Sunita Munda (22), who were active in Sundargarh and bordering areas of Jharkhand, surrendered before Bonai Additional SP RB Panigrahi and CRPF Assistant Jugol Kumar Mohapatra on Sunday. While Johan and Sunita belong to K Bolanga and Chandiposh police limits, respectively, the other two Joseph and Johan are from the Kirbur police station area of Jharkhand’s South Singhbhum district.
“They have confessed to their involvement in a number of Maoist violence cases in Koira block and bordering Jharkhand areas, ASP Panigrahi told a Press conference at the K Bolanga PS He informed that Johan was involved in the blasting of Sanbalijar and Jharbeda school buildings, Relahatu Panchayat office and godown.
Similarly, Joseph and Johan were involved in blasting of CITU office at Toda and Kalta outpost. Joseph was basically keeping vigil on police movements. Sunita was involved in cooking in Maoist camps. She was also involved in the Rangamatia Block office blast in Jharkhand. “They all will be provided Government benefits and allowed to come into the mainstream of the society,” said Panigrahi.
