The Rugudi police in Keonjhar district on Saturday arrested four persons suspecting them to be involved in Maoist activities.
Acting on tip-off from a reliable source, the police team nabbed Basanta Mahakud, Bamiya Munda, Ghasiram Munda and Santosh Sahoo while they were trying to escape towards Jharkhand from Gurali area with 50 kg of potassium nitrate and other explosive materials bought from Pallahara.
They were carrying these materials to be used in Maoist activities in the Serenda forest area. After interrogation, the four were produced before a court and forwarded to judicial custody, police said.
Further investigation was on, the police added.
