Patient care at the newly-opened Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College Hospital in Koraput district has been disrupted after four doctors of the hospital suddenly resigned from their posts citing non-release of their salaries.
Sources said that the four doctors of the medicine department tendered their resignation without any prior notice and stayed back alleging that the college dean has held up their salaries even though they have discharged their duties sincerely.
Sources said that the college dean held the salaries of the senior doctors Sashibhusan Sutar, Gurupad Dash, Manoj Kisan and Swarna Sarit Sahu after not finding their attendance record in the biometric machine of the hospital.
After knowing this, the four doctors sent their resignations to the dean. Since the senior doctors mainly supervise the medicine department, their sudden resignation has crippled patient care at the hospital.
