In two Assembly constituencies of Jharsuguda district, four nomination papers of the candidates have been cancelled. Two candidates from the Jharsuguda seat and two from Brajrajnagar have been disqualified for the upcoming elections.
The nomination of former Congress MLA Birendra Chandra Pandey has been cancelled for Jharsuguda seat as an Independent candidate as he could not submit Forms A and B and the signature of the proposer. For similar reasons, the candidature of Manish Sharma has been cancelled from the Jharsuguda seat.
In case of Brajrajnagar seat, the nominations filed by independent Saraswati Begeda and Bhagabat Sa of Kosol Kranti Dal have been cancelled for want of signature of the proposer in the nomination paper.
After this, nine nominations for Jharsuguda and 10 for Brajrajnagar seat are valid for the elections.
