Police arrested four persons and detained another on Friday in connection with the death of a person in a group clash that occurred under the Jalda police limits here late on Thursday night.
Notably, one Mohammad Akbhar died while another person namely Mohammad Khan sustained injuries in the group clash. While the dead body was sent for post mortem, injured Khan was admitted to the Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH).
Tension prevailed at Rangila Chowk on Friday with hundreds of locals protesting against the murder by staging road blockade. They demanded adequate compensation for the family of the deceased and immediate arrest of the miscreants.
Meanwhile, police forces have been deputed at the Chowk and the situation is under control, police sources said.
