In a major breakthrough, the Kendrapada Sadar police arrested four anti socials for their alleged involvement in Bapini Swain murder case on January 24 last.
They were identified as Sajan Behera (26), Haria alias Harekrushna Behera (29) of Dhaniapada village, Pasa alias Prasant Das (26) of Talasanga village and Amit Pradhan (28), a resident of Astaranga village.
According to Kendrapada SDPO Purna Chandra Pradhan, slain Kedarnath Swain alias Bapini (32), a resident of Samajori village under Tikhiri panchayat of Marshaghai police station, was shot dead by the arrested with the help of some of their other associates to avenge on the killing of Rajkishore Behera of Dhaniapada whom Bipin had killed on April 24, 2015.
Notably, the four arrested on Wednesday night were also hatching a plan with the six others near Kalapada bridge to commit a dacoity. But the four arrested managed to flee from the spot when police had rounded up the rest six.
According to the SDPO, meanwhile the police are conducting an inquiry about the possible link of the four arrested with Dhalsamant brothers’ gang. They were produced on Friday evening before the SDJM court.
