A team of the Banpur police led by the Balugoan SDPO on Tuesday conducted raids at different places and arrested four dacoits, who were involved in looting a soya chunks-laden Bolero pickup van at the Banapur-Balugaon Bypass on November 29 night.
The arrestees were identified as Seraj Uddin Khan (30), Abdul Mansur (24), Samir Khan (26) and SK Manahor (46).
Police said that while the van was going from Balipada, Brahmapur to Aiginia in Bhubaneswar, the miscreants coming by a four-wheeler obstructed the vehicle and looted the vehicle at gunpoint.
Later the driver had lodged a complaint in the Banapur police about the matter. Acting on the complaint, police had begun investigation and have now managed to nab the miscreants.
The police also seized the stolen van, a Qualis vehicle, a sword and a chopper from their possessions.
