Four persons were killed and three others critically injured when a bus hit an auto-rickshaw near a market near Borigumma Chhak on National Highway-26 in Koraput district on Tuesday afternoon.
The private bus going towards Brahmapur from Umarkote collided with the auto-rickshaw, which was carrying seven people, while trying to overtake it near Borigumma.
On being informed, the Borigumma police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot.
According to police, the four persons died on the spot while the injured ones were immediately rushed to the Borigumma hospital and they are being treated there.
The identities of the deceased and the injured were yet to be ascertained.
