4-day weekly shutdown in Gajapati

Published on:

In view of the rising Covid-19 cases in Gajapati, the district administration has imposed a four-day shutdown and three-day lockdown every week in most parts of the district until further orders.

The lockdown from Monday to Wednesday and the shutdown from Thursday to Sunday would be imposed in Kerandi gram panchayat (GP), Katalakaitha GP of Gosani block, Ranipentha GP of Kashinagar block, Jhammi GP of Gumma block, all block headquarters and municipal jurisdictions of Paralakhemundi and Kashinagar.

Due to the close proximity of Kerandi, Katalakaitha, Ranipenta and Jhammi GPs to the containment zones of Paralakhemundi Municipality, these GPs have been included in the lockdown and shutdown.

Further, the entry and exit points of block headquarters, Paralakhemundi Municipality and Kashinagar NAC have been sealed to restrict movement of people and vehicles. Only goods carriers and emergency medical vehicles shall be allowed for inter-district/inter-State movement. No public (visitors) shall be allowed in any public offices.

Shops of vegetables, grocery, milk, fruit, fish, meat, chicken and egg would be allowed to remain open between 6 am and 1 pm.

During the shutdown period, Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) would undertake door-to-door health screening.
