The State Government has brought 399 high schools under the block grant purview as per a notification issued by the School and Mass Education Department on Friday. Besides, 39 Madhyama schools (Sanskrit toll) have also been brought under the grant-in-aid (GIA) policy. These schools will receive the grants with effect from October 1. School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said a total of 5, 074 school teachers and staff would be benefited as the State Government would provide 40 per cent grant. The State Government would bear an additional expenditure of Rs25 crore per year, he added.
