The Kendrapada district administration has initiated disciplinary proceedings against as many as 35 Government employees by suspending them on the charge of skipping poll duty without notice.
The accused employees did not turn up for preparatory duty on Wednesday for the third-phase of panchayat polls on Friday.
The departmental heads, under whom the errant employees are officiating, have been directed to place them under suspension for negligence in poll duty.
“Any form of dereliction in poll duty will be sternly dealt with,” Kendrapada Collector Muralidhar Mallick said.
