State capital city Bhubaneswar on Sunday registered 338 new Covid-19 positive cases, increasing its total tally to 35, 679. Notably, on Saturday, the city had recorded 451 positives. Out of the new cases, 290 were local contacts and 48 quarantine cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
The local contacts included 19 cases from Khandagiri, 15 from Patia, 13 from Old Town, 10 each from Unit-6 and Vani Vihar, nine each from Kanan Vihar and Kalpana, 8 each from Sundarpada and Badagada, seven from Shailashree Vihar and 6 each from Laxmisagar, Madhusudan Nagar and Siripur. Currently, the active cases in city stood at 2,527. While 250 persons have succumbed to virus, 32,881 patients have recovered.
