A mega job fair was organised by the district administration last week at the Kendrapada College, which helped as many as 3,032 unemployed youth get work with several private companies.
Earlier, the district administration had provided 300 slips to each BDO of the nine blocks to distribute them among the unemployed youth for enrolling their names.
Though a total of 2,700 slips had been distributed, 3,032 youth participated in the fair. While 1,034 persons got job offers directly on the spot, 1,988 would get jobs after undergoing training, said District Employment Officer Golakh Chandra Dhal.
The companies which attended the fair were Dustar Solution, STR India limited, Pratibha Sintex, Evergreen Management Services India limited, Hinduja Solution, luminous Infoways, Sangam Indian limited, Rajasthan Sintex, RSWM and others.
Earlier, the fair was inaugurated by District Collector Durga Prasad Behera.
