One Biswamitra Kanhar resident of Badakhajuri (30) village of Talagaon panchayat in Boudh district, 50 km from here went searching for his missing cow in the jungle near his village.
While wandering in search of his domestic animal, Biswamitra was chased by a bear. He climbed onto a tree to save his life, but the bear immediately followed him and attacked him on the tree. Seriously injured, Biswamitra fell down from the tree. The bear fled after hearing the sounds of other people coming towards the spot. Biswamitra was rushed to the Kandhamal District Headquarters Hospital here. “If the condition of the patient becomes critical, he will be referred to the MKCG Medical College Hospital at Brahmapur,” said the local doctors.
