The Hulurisinga Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) of the State Bank of India here sanctioned Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan to 30 farmers on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya at Surab village of Angul.
The KCC loan was given to provide timely and adequate credit to farmers to meet their various needs, including contingency expenses and expenses related to ancillary activities, through a simplified procedure of facilitating loan disbursal.
On the occasion, hundreds of farmers present with their plough, bullocks and bamboo baskets sowed paddy seed in their fields. Some farmers came with traditional musical instruments, singing folk songs addressing Goddess lakshmi and the rain god Indra Dev for good crops during the coming agricultural season.
Chief Manager Biswanath Sethy from Regional Business Office and Branch Manager Kumuda Kumar Nanda spoke on the occasion and promised to offer all possible help to the farmers. They urged the farmers to cooperate with the bank.
In the meeting 200 farmers were distributed pagadi by the bank and 100 were distributed bamboo baskets for sowing seed.
