Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday took a decision to include 30,000 more artists in the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana.
The artists and their organisations had requested 5T Chairman VK Pandian during his tour to the districts and given proposals to include more artists under the scheme.
Under the scheme, 50,000 artists are being provided with financial assistance of Rs 1,200 each per month. Now, the number of beneficiaries has increased from 50,000 to 80,000. By this, artists in different parts of the State would be encouraged and benefitted and they would strengthen and preserve Odia art and culture.
