In a most shocking incident, a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a security guard at the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital on Tuesday night.
The family members of the girl have lodged a complaint in this regard at the Sambalpur Town police station, on the basis of which a case has been registered. According to reports, an unidentified person took the girl with him while she was present near her mother, who was admitted to the hospital. After the girl returned and narrated her experience to her mother, the latter concluded it to be an incident of rape, following which the police complaint was lodged.
Police have started investigation into the incident. A medical examination of the girl would be conducted, the reports added. “A team has been formed for investigation. The CCTV footage of the hospital will be examined to know the truth,” said the Sambalpur Superintendent of Police.
