Passing lewd comments to a girl cost three youths dear as they were severely humiliated by locals for their offence IN Banki in Cuttack district.
According to reports, locals of Bheda Ramachandrapur village under the Banki police limits captured the three youths while they were trying to flee after eve-teasing a village girl midway on Friday.
To give them a lesson for eve-teasing, villagers tied the offenders to a nearby electric pole and smeared ink on their faces and put tyres around their necks.
On receiving information, police rescued the trio from the clutches of the angry villagers and took them to the police station. Later, the accused youths were set free following a compromise made between the villagers and their families at the police station.
