Three youths were burnt alive as their car caught fire after colliding with a tree at Sukhajor under the lephripara police station in Sundargarh district late on Tuesday night.
The youths were going from Bandhpalli towards Hemgiri around 11 pm. The speeding car lost control and crashed into the tree. The engine of the car caught fire, which suddenly engulfed the whole vehicle.
The youths were charred to death inside the car as they could not come out of the vehicle.
The deceased were identified as Biswajit Kar (25), a native of Koraput who was working in TVS Finance Company in Sundargarh, and Rahul Pasayat (25) and loknath Birgantia (26), both residents of Chhatenpalli in Sundargarh, who were working as supervisors in a transport company in Sundargarh.
