The police rescued the persons and held the brokers while the latter were transporting them to Bhubaneswar. After getting clue, Chandragiri IIC Purnachandra Behera raided a private bus at Chandragiri and rescued three female labourers. Two rescued persons among them were identified as minor girls.
The brokers were identified as Ratikantha Behera and Pushpanjali Mandala. They persuaded them to provide good jobs with handsome salaries.
The labourers were from Ramagiri police limits, the Randiba gram panchayat.
“A case was lodged at the Mohana police station. The brokers were arrested and forwarded to Mohana court,” informed Behera. The rescued persons were handed over to their parents, he added.
