The Khariar police are still to find a clue in the case of a burglary that happened on December 15 last in which the criminals reportedly looted about 400 grams of gold and cash of Rs 2 lakh. The victim, Pradip Khamari, at a Press meet on Tuesday alleged that the police have not dealt with the case effectively.
“No scientific team was involved in the investigation. More than three weeks have passed, but no progress has been made," said Khamari. "It is learnt that the police have a list of suspects, but no one has been taken for interrogation," he said. The iron hammer used to break the door has been taken from a construction site adjacent to the house of Khamari.
“People in my neighbourhood say someone well-known to us are involved in the burglary, but I cannot guess who he is. I think a higher-level investigation is required," said Khamari.
When asked, Khariar police station IIC Sadanand Pujari said the investigation is on. "We have asked for the mobile transmission data of that area that will help us in our investigation," he said.
