Three teachers of the SCB Medical College here, including the head of the Dental wing of the hospital, are facing sexual assault charges after they were booked by police on the basis of a written complaint filed by a PG student of the college.
“On the basis of the complaint, a case under Sections 354, 354 (a), 294, 323,506 and 34 IPC has been registered against a senior resident doctor, an associate professor and the HoD of the Dental wing of the college,” informed Mangalabag police station Inspector Arun Kumar Swain on Monday.
The police said the complainant in the case is a second year PG student and belongs to Jharkhand. Sources said the girl had been sexually assaulted by the senior resident doctor and the associate professor for past several days.
“When she brought this to the notice of the HoD on Sunday, instead of giving her justice, the HoD too allegedly misbehaved with her,” the victim said in her complaint, adding that not finding any other way, she preferred to bring it to the notice of the police.
