A pall of gloom descended on Muniguda town in Rayagada district when three members of a family infected with Covid-19 succumbed to the virus just in five days.
An established businessman of the town died on August 28 at his residence. After his death, his test report came positive for Covid-19. After performing his last rites, his two younger sons developed Covid-19 symptoms and were admitted to a Covid Hospital at JKpur. As the condition of one them deteriorated, he was shifted to a Covid Hospital in Brahmapur.
The deceased businessman’s elder son was admitted to the Brahmapur Covid Hospital after being infected with the virus on Monday. Later, he was shifted to Bhubaneswar. On Tuesday morning, he died under treatment at a private hospital. Barely one hour after his death, his second sibling, who was battling for life in the Brahmapur hospital, succumbed.
Currently, their youngest brother is undergoing treatment at JKpur.
