Three more friends of engineering student Asutosh Moahnaty alias Rishi on Sunday deposed before the Commissionerate police here in connection with the suspicious death of Rishi and a sex clip allegedly involving BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena.
The trio was quizzed at the Khandagiri police station by investigating officer (IO) of the case ACP Tapan Pattnaik.
According to a source, the IO questioned the trio on what they knew about Rishi’s alleged murder. The IO recorded their statements under Section 161 CrPC. So far, the police have recorded statements of 14 of Rishi’s friends in connection with his murder and the sex video.
“We told the police whatever we knew about Rishi. Rishi used to play cricket with us. We had no other links with him. Rishi’s death should be probed and the culprits should be punished,” said one of Rishi’s friends after his interrogation.
On Saturday, three of Rishi’s friends had recorded their statements under Section 161 CrPC before the IO in the presence of Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
According to a source, they said the sex tape is linked with the death of Rishi. Besides, the tape was prepared by Rishi’s girlfriend. They have also revealed to the police under what circumstances the video was recorded.
However, the police are yet to trace Rishi’s girlfriend.
