AMOFOI founder and FPI general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire praised the former CM as he was honest and had opted love marriage for himself. Choudhury had married Malati Sen, a Bengali Brahmin, against feudal traditions of the State.

Three love marriages were organised on the occasion. The couples are: Gopal Krushna Mohanty of Cuttack and Stustee Biswal of Khurda; Sudarsan Sahoo and Priyadarshini Panda of Jagatsingpur and Alankrut Mohanty of Puri and Arpita Mohanty of Bhubaneswar.
