At least three workers, including a woman, died and six others sustained critical injuries in a blast at a stone quarry at Okilaguda under the Gunupur police station in Rayagada district on Friday.
The injured workers were admitted to the Gunupur Hospital. One of the deceased was identified as Dudi Sabar (50).
The injured were Buda Sabar (50), Pantul Sabar (45), Suku Sabar (50), Balia Sabar (10), and Samiyan Sabar (12).
The three deceased died on the spot after being hit by stone pieces following the explosion.
The rescue operation after the mishap was affected due to rainfall in the area, reports said.
