The Gajapati police on Thursday rescued three girls, including two minor,and arrested a woman from the Brahmapur railway station while the accused was trying to send them to Mumbai.
The arrested woman identified as Ratnamala Sukra Guda hails from Karnataka. The rescued girls Sandhya Nayak (14), Jinita Nayak (25) belong to Khariguda village and Devi Mallik (14) from lakapadar of Mohana panchayat. later, with the help of the district Childline the police handed over the rescued children to their families. Sources said Ratnamala was taking the girls to Mumbai on the pretext of providing them various opportunities.
