An instance of shoddy roadworks have come to the fore in Puri district where patches of black tops detached from the road surface after three days of completion of the work.
According to reports, tar was laid on a 5-km PMGSY road from Haladia Chhack to Jagannath Patna under Bramhagiri block recently at an agreement amount of Rs 75.31 lakh. But three days after completion of the tar-laying work, patches of black top were seen detached from road surface to a length of 1 km.
The work had been done by the RD Department. Meanwhile, locals have demanded that a probe be conducted into the weak work.
