A three-day All India Sovaniya Youth and International Sovaniya Utsav organised by the International Indecency Prevention Movement in association with the Utkal University PG Department of History under chairpersonship of Dr Arundhati Debi concluded here.
NYP India chairman Dr SN Subarao attended as chief guest in the mvaledictory function attended by scholars from different universities and colleges of India.
During the programme different papers were presented in the seminar on “Non-Violence and Decency” wherein former FM University Vice-Chancellor Prof Sukadev Nanda and Utkal University History Department HOD Prof Somarani Chand and Dr Kalikinkar Pattanayak were the resource persons. Flag of Decency was hoisted by controller Rukmini Debi and a discussion was held on “Gandhi-150 and Sovaniya Youth Power.” Artists from New Delhi and the BK College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneswar, exhibited paintings on Gandhi.
Freedom fighter Padma Shri Bhabani Charan Pattanayak, NISER Registrar Abhaya Kumar Nayak and former Health Director Dr Seba Mohapatra inaugurated a peace march for “Sovaniya Samaja Nirman”.
Besides, a free health camp, a quiz competition and a mind-building Sovaniya cultural programme and a special yoga programme was held. A souvenir “The Yubasurya” was also released on the occasion.
