A three-day exhibition of exclusive variety of fabrics developed under design reference collection of the Odisha Handlooms concluded at Hotel Mayfair lagoon here on Wednesday.The event was organized by the Sambalpuri Bastralaya and the State Textiles and Handicrafts Department.
Aiming to create a distinct identity among elite class buyers, the Sambalpuri Bastralaya showcased collection of five designers; Bibhu Mohapatra, Rita Kapoor, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Abraham and Thakur.“The response was overwhelming. We had a business of around Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh everyday,” said Pravat Kumar Mishra at the Sambalpuri Bastralaya stall.Sambalpuri Bastralaya Production Officer Sudhir Kumar Panda said, “Our main aim is to approach and attract customers in elite group and we are successful at that.”
